History

The official date of Sorbent JSC foundation is August 26, 1939. 80 years is a very long history with tremendous achievements and thousands of employees working for the benefit of the enterprise.

The plant in 1939 is just one workshop for the production of various types of activated carbon. In the 70s it was a powerful industrial complex with the number of employees in one workshop up to 500 people. Today it is a dynamically developing diversified enterprise, the Russian leader in production of activated carbons, one of the leading producers of means of individual protection of respiratory organs.

All efforts of the company today, as well as in 1939, are aimed at protection of life and health of people.

1939

August 26, 1939 is the official date of establishment of the enterprise on the basis of activated carbon.

1942

Production was reorganized to the military environment. The first batch of gas masks was released.

1954

New types of activated carbons, absorbers and catalysts were mastered. On their basis specialists started the mass production of a new generation of civil gas masks.

1959

Production of Petryanov's filtering cloth – effective material from ultrathin fibers for production of industrial filters with high protective properties - was mastered.

1960s

Production of protective equipment for the needs of civil defense.

1970s

The first mass production of household filters "Rodnik" for drinking water purification was started.

1980s

Creation of the Ural production association "Sorbent".

1990s

"Sorbent" Open Joint Stock Company and "Sorbent" trademark were registered. The production of water treatment installations and highly effective reagents for water purification was mastered.

2000s

Active production of industrial personal protective equipment (PPE). Transition to a new system of PPE standards in accordance with the European ones.

2012

Gas mask with filters VK® for protection of industrial personnel and civilians was designed. Its mass production was mastered.

2013

Employees of the scientific and technical services of the sorption and chemical technologies of Sorbent JSC together with Perm National Research Polytechnic University won the competition of projects on creation of hi-tech production.

2014

Development of UNIX series masks and respirators with high ergonomic properties.

2018

On the 5th of July 2018, Sorbent JSC became a part of Zelinsky Group Ltd, which brought together the leading Russian manufacturers of means of respiratory protection – Sorbent JSC, Tambovmash JSC, Arti-Zavod JSC and EHMZ named after N. D. Zelinsky OJSC.
